The Blue Ash Beautification Week judging process this year is set for June 9 through June 13. But first, the City needs to hear from citizens as to which properties you believe deserve beautification awards. Nominations will be accepted beginning May 19 and are requested no later than Friday, May 30.

It’s easy to nominate your favorite property! Here’s how:

• By calling the City at 745-8500 (then dial zero) weekdays between 8AM and 5PM. 
• By faxing nominations to 745-8594. 
• By E-mail to administration@blueash.com. 
• By mail or in-person to the Municipal & Safety Center, 4343 Cooper Road, Blue Ash, Ohio 45242.

All properties nominated for an award will be judged by the Committee sometime between June 9 and 13, and the Committee will choose approximately ten residential finalists and two business finalists (one representing large business and one representing small business). Examples of judging criteria include:

• Overall upkeep and maintenance of property. 
• Type of plantings used. Overall lawn area maintenance. 
• Overall tree maintenance.

The ten residential awards will include Beautification Committee Award, Mayor’s Award, People’s Choice Award, and seven Runner-Ups.

The general public can participate in the People’s Choice Award by stopping in the Recreation Center sometime between June 18 and June 27, and submitting their “vote” based upon the photographs of each nominee to be posted by the Committee.

Winners will be notified in July and will be invited to a future City Council Meeting for the presentation of awards.
