Welcome to the NEW Blue Ash Blue Fins swim team web site! We are excited to offer this RECREATIONAL summer swim team for the first time this year!

We are a new team that will compete in the Tri-County Swim League with other community recreation centers such as Montgomery and Mason. We focus on skill development, having fun, teamwork, and community. This page is full of information on this exciting new program!

IMPORTANT DETAILS
To join the swim team, you MUST be a member of the Recreation Center (per Tri-County League rules). Click here to learn more about becoming a member if you are not currently.

Participants must be able to swim 25 meters freestyle (front crawl), submerge completely under the water, feel comfortable in deep water, and be a current member of the Recreation Center.

Team size is limited to 120 swimmers with a maximum of 30 swimmers per age group. Age groups for competition are divided as such:  5/6, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and 15 and up.  Per the Tri-County League rules, swimmers MUST be the specified AGE of their group by June 1, 2008.

The team will be staffed by 1 full-time coach, 2 part-time coaches and adequate staffing of lifeguards for all team practices and home meets.

Cost to join the team is $100 for the first child, $90 for the second and $80 for additional swimmers in the family (must be siblings).

PARENTS:  YOU are a part of the team, too! We can not function without parental involvement from EVERY family. If you plan to have your child join the swim team, you are expected to participate in swim meets as well. There are many jobs available for all different levels of commitment and talents. No matter which jobs you choose, your participation is critical for the existence of the team.


DATES TO REMEMBER
Saturday, April 5, 2008, 8am-2pm:  Swim team registration begins for all members of the Recreation Center. Your membership MUST stay current throughout the extent of the season, per Tri-County Swim League rules.

Saturday, May 17, 2008, 9:30am-11:30am:  Parent informational meeting and swim suit fitting. This meeting is HIGHLY suggested for parents and swimmers to attend as this is a new experience for all of us. Your family will have an opportunity to meet the coaches, try on swimsuits (2008/09 team suits: boys suit, girls suit), learn about what to expect for the season, but mostly, you'll be able to meet your teammates!

PRACTICE TIMES
Swimmers must attend a minimum of 3 practices per week in order to compete in the meets.

Evenings:  Practices may be held in the evenings prior to June 3, 2008.
    - May 19th - June 2:  4:30pm-6pm (No practice on May 26th and May 29th)

Mornings:  Practice schedule AFTER June 3, 2008 is as follows (coordinates with our Tennis Camps):
    - Ages 11 and Up:  8:15am - 9:30am, Monday - Friday
    - Ages 5 - 10:  9:15am - 10:15am, Monday - Friday
